Full Time Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Technician – Tampa
Working in rehabilitation and sports medicine is a challenge and hard work, but seeing the dog with IVDD walk again, returning the sport dog to competition, or providing comfort and mobility to the geriatric patient is extremely rewarding. A rehabilitation technician also has the opportunity to really develop relationships with their patients and clients during the therapeutic process. There is a lot to learn in this expanding field along with the opportunity to become a VTS (physical rehabilitation) which would be encouraged and supported. Florida Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time veterinary rehabilitation technician. We are a growing sports medicine and rehabilitation practice dedicated to high-quality patient care. We have a broad caseload of sporting dogs covering many disciplines as well as pet dogs recovering from a variety of orthopedic and neurologic issues. We are offer all rehabilitation modalities (laser, ultrasound, underwater and land treadmills, etc.) and therapies in our 1 year old facility. Job duties include:
Performing various rehabilitation therapies such as underwater treadmill, manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic laser and ultrasound, etc.
Assisting veterinarian with exams, radiographs, diagnostic ultrasounds, and other treatments and procedures
Communicating with clients on patient care, services, and treatments
Hospital and rehab equipment maintenance – cleaning, organizing, inventory, etc.
Administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering phones, handling medical records, etc.
Drawing blood and placing IV catheters
Monitoring patient under anesthesia and sedation
Tracking of patient progress through rehabilitation plans

Candidates:
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Certification in Rehabilitation – CCRA/CCRP (or interest in obtaining certification)
Experience working in a veterinary setting
Knowledge or interest in dog training and/or dog sports
Strong client communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to lift 50#
