Description: This position completes rehabilitation treatments developed by the rehabilitation therapist. A treatment includes direct patient care, client communications associated with that care, medical record documentation, protocol-based home programs, and follow up visit scheduling. Changes to the treatment plan cannot be made without rehabilitation therapist approval. This position also instructs veterinary students in protocol-based rehabilitation techniques including modalities, manual therapies, and therapeutic exercises. This position also assists with maintaining and cleaning treatment area and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following in the application document:
- An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in veterinary/animal health technology AND
- One year of experience in small animal rehabilitation or certification in small animal rehabilitation
Substitutions:
- Two additional years of experience in small animal rehabilitation with substitute for each year of required education
- A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in veterinary/animal health technology will substitute for the associate’s degree and, at the agency’s discretion, the year of experience.
