Rocky Mountain Veterinary Rehabilitation is seeking a part-time or full-time veterinary technician or assistant with experience with physical rehabilitation- certification in small animal rehabilitation or massage therapy preferred, but not mandatory. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be passionate about integrative patient care. This is a physically demanding position as the majority of the time will be spent providing patient care.

Depending on interest and skill level, mentorship and in house training is available. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in small animal veterinary rehabilitation, though those new to the field are also encouraged to apply.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in small animal medicine

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to spend several hours throughout the day on the floor while treating patients
  • Ability to squat or stand from the ground while holding up to 10 pounds

Responsibilities:

  • Assist DVMs with creation and implementation of customized treatment plans including but not limited to: Massage Therapy, Laser Therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait evaluation, and shockwave therapy.
  • Provide post-op rehabilitation to patients recovering from orthopedic and neurological surgeries
  • Provide care for geriatric patients with multifocal arthritis and generalized weakness
  • Provide client education including instruction in home exercise program
  • Detailed and accurate record keeping
  • Communicating regularly with clients including sending emails with a recap of the day’s plan and recommendations
  • Administrative work such as scheduling, collecting payments, working with dropbox, Daysmart Vet, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and webmail.
