Description
The Introduction to Companion Animal Rehabilitation Assistant (CCAA I – ONLINE) course, part one, provides an up-to-date overview of the field of canine rehabilitation. This course will explore the similarities and differences between human and animal rehabilitation. The rehabilitation team—including physical therapy professionals, veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and other team members—will review the regulatory issues involved in this field of practice. The course will also cover the principles of veterinary sports medicine and examine the roles of each team member.
We will review an overview of comparative anatomy, along with commonly seen orthopedic and neurological conditions encountered in rehabilitation. The team will emphasize collaboration to enhance the learning experience. We will also provide guidance on how to get started in the field of animal rehabilitation, how protocols are developed, all while highlighting the importance of a team approach to care.
Part two of the Introduction to Companion Animal Rehabilitation Assistant (CCAA I ONLINE) covers essential biophysical modalities in canine rehabilitation.
